Private Revenue elevated 21.1% in March, Spending elevated 4.2%

The BEA launched the Private Revenue and Outlays report for March:

Private revenue elevated $4.21 trillion (21.1 %) in March in response to estimates launched at present by the Bureau of Financial Evaluation. Disposable private revenue (DPI) elevated $4.18 trillion (23.6 %) and private consumption expenditures (PCE) elevated $616.0 billion (4.2 %).

Actual DPI elevated 23.0 % in March and Actual PCE elevated 3.6 %; items elevated 7.3 % and providers elevated 1.7 %. The PCE worth index elevated 0.5 %. Excluding meals and power, the PCE worth index elevated 0.4 % .

The March PCE worth index elevated 2.3 % year-over-year and the March PCE worth index, excluding meals and power, elevated 1.8 % year-over-year.

The next graph reveals actual Private Consumption Expenditures (PCE) by means of March 2021 (2012 {dollars}). Observe that the y-axis does not begin at zero to higher present the change.

The dashed pink traces are the quarterly ranges for actual PCE.

Private revenue was barely above expectations (boosted by American Rescue Act),  and the rise in PCE was at expectations.
