B-Stock is so excited to welcome Frannie Ello to the Product Design team this summer! As a summer teammate, we know Frannie will be an incredible asset to the company. Frannie is currently studying Human Centered Design & Engineering, with a focus in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Washington. Learn a bit more about Frannie and see her answers to some questions below.

Q: What are you most excited to learn at B-Stock?

I’m excited to learn more about what it means to design for consumers and get some real-life experience. In addition, I hope to learn more about what it means to utilize the power of data in design!

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? (Or still want to be!)

I wanted to become a Michelin Star Chef when I was younger because I loved to cook (and I still do!) I would still love to continue cooking in the future and I hope to pass down my knowledge to my family and friends.

Q: What is one piece of advice you’ve been given that has stuck?

“Don’t doubt yourself before you’ve taken the first step.”

Q: Where can people find you after work or school?

After classes, you can find me gaming with some of my closest friends or grabbing a bite at the newest restaurant! I’m quite the foodie.

Q: What is a hidden talent of yours?

I am quite shy but I love to sing! You can catch me singing on my parent’s fancy karaoke machine back at home!

Q: What plays in the background while you work (music genre, podcast, news)?

I like listening to music in the background. Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of early 2000s RnB and Indie music!

Q: Where would you go with unlimited PTO?

I would love to go on a trip through various countries in Asia, starting with my home country of the Philippines! I have not visited the Philippines in over 7 years, and it would be nice to revisit the places my parents grew up in.

Q: What do you do when you’re stuck creatively? How do you get the creative juices flowing?

When I find myself stuck creatively, I like to take a step back and clear my mind, whether that is stepping away from my workspace or taking a quick walk. Being in a creative block can be overwhelming; however, I find that I find inspiration when I step away and take a break.

To get my creative juices flowing, I like preparing everything I need to work efficiently. This means making myself that cup of tea, wearing my favorite work outfit, and really anything that can get me into that creative mindset!

Q: What’s something you’ve accomplished that you’re proud of?

I am an officer for a Filipino organization at my university, and this past year, I led our team in organizing a charity event for typhoon victims in the Philippines. In less than a month of organizing, our team raised over $1000 through donations!

Q: What is one thing you hope to contribute to B-Stock?

As a Product Design Intern, I hope to contribute to the design systems for the buyer portal and enhance the overall experiences of all customers at B-Stock.
